What Has Angelina Jolie Been Up To Since The Pitt Split?

After nearly a dozen years together, the celebrity power couple, formerly known as Bradgelina, have called it quits.

Jolie filed for divorce in September 2016, citing several issues, but noting that a physical altercation between Pitt and their child, Maddox, was the final straw.

While the tabloids have been dominated by their messy divorce proceedings and potential Brad and Jen rumors, Jolie’s future has been relatively uncovered.  Let’s take a look into the beautiful actress’s career and future endeavors post-Pitt Split!

We’ll start off with Angelina’s recent on-screen appearances. In September 2017, the Jolie-directed Netflix feature, First They Killed My Father, was released.  The film is an adaptation of Cambodian activist Loung Ung’s memoir, detailing the atrocities and struggles that the country faced under the rule of the Khmer Rouge in the 1970s.

On top of her directorial projects, the actress has some big projects in the works for 2018.  She’s set to produce and voice a character in the animated film, The One And Only Ivan, which according to IMBD, is in pre-production. An enchantress in real-life and on the big screen, The actress is also poised to reclaim her role as the lead in Maleficent 2, which has not yet started filming.

When Jolie is not promoting her work, she is a charismatic humanitarian activist, and also has served as UN ambassador.  Recently she has been a voice for women in the #MeToo movement, promoting sexual assault and gender-based violence across the world.

The three-time winner presented at the 2018 Golden Globe awards, helping to promote the show’s theme: Time’s Up!  Alongside fellow actress Isabelle Huppert, Jolie announced Frances McDormand as the winner for ‘Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama’ for her role in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.

Unfortunately, Jolie’s attendance was overshadowed by whispers of Brad and Jen’s secret relationship, as Aniston was rumored to have skipped the red carpet because she didn’t want to have an awkward run-in with Angelina.

Jolie continued her active feminist voice on the March 2018 cover of ELLE, promoting the importance of International Women’s Day.

For those of you who are unaware, every year, on March 8th, the world celebrates the accomplishment of women during this holiday.  In other countries, it’s celebrated with gifts and days off from work – but in America, the fad hasn’t caught on.  Jolie was perfect for the cover as she has voiced her concerned about sexual assault and gender-based violence all over the world.

Finally, in the midst of her separation, Jolie has been able to balance her activism and acting career with her role as a loving mother.  During an interview with InStylethe 42-year-old talked about how she actually enjoys aging, as it makes her a better parent.

“I look in the mirror and I see that I look like my mother, and that warms me”

The future is bright for Angelina, even without Brad by her side. She’s always proved to be a strong, independent women with a passionate passion for compassion!
