Drop everything! Prince William and Kate Middleton have finally welcomed a new member into the royal family.

At 11:01 am on April 23rd, 2018, the Duchess of Cambridge birthed a healthy baby boy at the Lindo Wing of the Paddington Hospital. The new member of the crown popped out weight a hefty 8 lbs. 7oz. According to a statement from Kensington Palace: “Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well.” This is the couple’s third child.

Now, unlike most families, the Royals usually wait a few days before settling on a baby name. Still, that doesn’t stop the public speculating. So much so, that you can actually place a wager on what Kate and William will call their son. The odds-on favorite is Arthur at 9/4 (betting $40 will get you $90) and other rumored names include James, Philip, Albert, Henry, and Jack.

The world was waiting for the couple to make a public debut with their child – and the Duke and Duchess delivered. Merely seven-hours after seeing the light of day, the little Windsor dazzled the crowd as he was towed in a carrier into the spotlight. The infant was wrapped in a white shawl as the royal mother lifted him into her arms, displaying him to the masses for the first time. But, the baby wasn’t the only person making news from the public announcement.

While many woman look like an exhausted mess after labor (and rightfully so), the Duchess appeared to be stylish and fashionable, which drew criticism from new mothers around the world. According to People, Kate was donned in a red Jenny Packham dress with a white doily collar, which was almost identical to the outfit that Princess Diana wore after giving birth to Prince Harry. No, it’s not the same exact one; do you really think the royals have to wear hand-me-down clothes?

In addition to her outfit, Kate sported a blowout hair-style and suede heels, leaving critics to question how the heck she had the time to do get ready just hours after giving birth. Come on, this is the royal family we are talking about here. I’m sure as soon as the mother passed her newborn to the next family member, a team of aides swooped to begin preparing her for a photo op.

While the news stations will probably stretch these headlines out for another few weeks, the biggest story in Windsor world is Prince Harry’s upcoming nuptials to the American Meghan Markle. The ceremony is set for May 19, 2018 at St. George’s Chapel and it seems as if the newest member of the royal family will be in attendance.

The soon-to-be newlyweds have also announced several different musicians that will be playing at the ceremony, but the most intriguing entertainer is allegedly playing the reception: The Spice Girls! Nothing has been set in stone, but rumor has it that both Harry and Meghan are pleading to the aging pop stars to “Say You’ll be There.”

Finally, all is butterflies and rainbows in the pristine world of the Royal family (their biggest scandal will probably be someone making tea the wrong way). Until then, God Save the Queen.
