Celebrity Rule Of Threes: A Farewell To Barbara Bush, Avicii, And Verne Troyer

For some odd reason, celebrity deaths tend to occur in threes. While you may think it’s just a crazy internet hoax, over the past week the world has lost three prominent names: former First Lady Barbara Bush, EDM DJ Avicii, and actor/comedian Verne Troyer.

Sure, it may sound like an bizarre trio of names that have probably never been mentioned in the same sentence before, but today, we’ll pay our celebrity respects by taking a brief look back at their successful careers, and the legacies they have left behind.

Who says politicians can’t be celebrities too? The Republican matriarch Barbara Bush passed away at the ripe age of 92 on April 17, 2018, in the comfort of her own home.

Known as “The Enforcer,” the mother-of-six took her role as First Lady very seriously, advocating for the elevation of literacy across the world. She was devoted to her family and her country, but always spoke her mind when it came to the issues, even if they contradicted the values of her husband’s party.

Bush was quick-witted and sharped tongue, with a particularly dark sense of humor, which always sat well with the lay voter. The entire family has always excelled under Barbara’s direction, and she will missed by the entire nation.

Swedish singer and DJ, Avicii (Tim Bergling) tragically died at age of 28 while in Muscat, Oman on April 20, 2018. While speculation has surrounded his death, the family has recently released a statement that Avicii took his own life.

“He really struggled with thoughts about meaning, life, happiness. He could not go on any longer. He wanted to find peace.”

Some would say that Avicii was the father of the popular EDM (electronic dance music) movement in 2010, as he dropped his hit single “Levels” which skyrocketed up the charts. His art and creativity paved the way for many other DJ’s to flourish in this new age genre.

Although he spent the next several years growing his brand (eventually earning $28-million per year according to Forbes), Avicii stopped touring in 2016 to do some soul searching. It also had been rumored that he had struggled with substance abuse.

Whatever the case, the DJ has left a lasting impact on this world, transcending the music industry, and now he can party in peace.

With all the other news going on, tucked in the back of the tabloids, we learned that Verne Troyer had passed away. The 49-year-old actor died on April 21, 2018 due to an apparent alcohol overdose.

Yet, the cause of death is currently being investigated by authorities as many believe there could have been other illicit substances involved. Some have speculated that this was a self-inflicted overdose, as Troyer had struggled with severe depression in the past.

Troyer was most notably recognized for his role as Mini-Me in the Austin Powers series, and he was actually one of the shortest men in the entire world. He has made several appearances on reality television as well.

Unfortunately, with all of these celebrity deaths, we overlook the lasting impact that these tragedies have on the families. Don’t forget to raise a glass to these celebs and the one’s who loved them.
