Celebrities get to enjoy many perks that come along with being famous, but they also have to deal with overzealous fans that stalk them! Some stalkers have serious mental illnesses, which makes it even more serious. Stories in the news include stalkers breaking into a star’s home, showing up at their doorstep, or even making threatening comments to a celebrity on social media. Let’s check out some of the more serious cases of celebrity stalkers.
Sandra Bullock was horrified when her stalker, Joshua Corbett, scaled her barbed wire fence and made his way into her home in 2014. The “Gravity” star heard a banging sound in her home at around 1 a.m. and went to shut her bedroom door and saw her stalker standing right in her hallway. Sandra quickly locked the door and called 911. Bullock had no idea how long the man had been in her home.
Corbett was carrying a notebook with photos of the actress cut from magazines, along with handwritten notes to the actress. Corbett appeared to believe that Sandra was his wife and her adopted son, Louis, was his son.
Police later found seven weapons in Corbett’s home, which included assault rifles and machine guns.
Usher has been dealing with his crazy stalker for many years. A woman named Darshelle Jones-Rakestraw from Ohio kept showing up at the singer’s home and claimed she was his wife. Darshelle demanded to be let inside the home and said she had just lost her keys. Usher obtained a restraining order against Darshelle in 2012 that expired in 2013.
In 2014, Darshelle contacted Usher’s attorney and demanded money. She told the lawyer she was sick of the singer’s games. After not receiving any money, she contacted his security and said she was going to go after him.
Darshelle showed up to an Atlanta recording studio in May 2015 and posted photos and a video on social media. Jones was required to stay 200 yards away from Usher and was arrested for violating the restraining order. She was charged with aggravated stalking.
Pamela Anderson actually had a stalker living in her guest home in 2011. The female sliced her wrists and was even wearing one of Pamela’s “Baywatch” swimsuits when she was arrested. The woman actually stayed in the star’s home for several days, also entering the star’s main house and taking her personal items.
Ivanka Trump had to deal with a crazy stalker for two years. The daughter of Donald Trump was stalked by Justin Massler, who threatened suicide and sent photos of himself covered in blood. Creepy!
Selena Gomez had a 46-year-old stalker named Thomas Brodnicki and claimed he talked to God about killing her. Gomez tried to get a restraining order against Brodnicki in 2011, but the judge refused until the man appeared in court. He finally did and even admitted the restraining order was the only thing to keep him away from the singer.
Alyson Hannigan had to seek a restraining order on her stalker named John Hobbs. The New Hampshire man contacted the “How I Met Your Mother” actress online and stated he was going to kill her spouse, Alexis Denisof.
Other creepy messages he sent included one he sent on Facebook, claiming he could marry her or kill her. He said it would never end, even after death. There were also records showing Hobbs had a gun permit and had been recently released from a psychiatric hospital.
Justin Bieber certainly had a scary stalker, a man named Dana Martin. We would honestly think of a female stalker going after the Biebs, but this guy was infatuated with the singer. Martin even got a tattoo of Bieber on his leg while in jail!
Martin began penning letters to the singer and became enraged when he did not receive a response. Dana was in a Las Cruces prison serving two consecutive life sentences for raping and murdering a 15-year-old girl.
While serving time in prison, Martin hired two inmates that would soon be released to cut off Justin’s testicles and kill him. Thankfully the murder plot was foiled and all three men were indicted for two counts each of first-degree conspiracy to commit murder and solicitation to commit murder. Crazy and scary!
