Meghan Trainor is normally “all about that bass”, but on Thursday night’s “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon” she was “all about that fall.” The singer was performing her new song “Me Too” when she slipped and fell as she grabbed the microphone.
The 22-year-old, who was dressed in a sparkly mini-dress and high heels, turned her ankle when she reached around to reach for the mic. The fall left her flat on the floor.
The incident happened at the end of her performance and the “Lips Are Movin'” singer just remained on her back as the show’s host joined her.
Jimmy laughed and went to lie down with her on the floor before helping her to her feet. Meghan looked embarrassed but shook it off.
On follower showed support to Trainor, commenting, “Loved it… it was pretty funny.”
Others believed the fall was staged, with one viewer writing, “I thought that was a fake fall.”
Meghan Trainor has recently made headlines after she released her new music video for “Me Too” and noticed she had been Photoshopped.
Meghan told ET, “We didn’t have a lot of time for this video and we had to wrap it around pretty quick. They had like a day to get beauty and color done.”
She also revealed that she had approved the music video after watching it briefly, and only noticed her digitally altered waist after it had been released. A revised version of the clip has now been released.
The Grammy-winning singer later took to Snapchat to talk about the photo-shop incident. She wrote, “My waist is not that teeny, I had a bomb waist that night, I don’t know why they didn’t like my waist, but I didn’t approve that video and it went out for the world, so I’m embarrassed.”
Meghan appeared on ABC this morning and discussed her fall and her music video being photoshopped to make her appear thinner.
