Kanye West is known for going off on interesting rants, whether it be on social media or during his concerts. This time, Kanye went off on a crazy (or genius…we aren’t sure) rant during his appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
The 38-year-old rapper appeared on the daytime talk show and discussed his family, asking Mark Zuckerberg for money on social media, and all about how he is an artist and has ideas to change the world.
Ellen, 58, told Kanye that his wife Kim Kardashian thought it would be a great idea to have a board of directors go over his tweet ideas before they were posted.
DeGeneres ran the idea by him and West replied,
Kanye went on to say that he does not regret anything he has ever posted on social media, which includes the tweets directed at Mark Zuckerberg in February. The comedienne joked that maybe Kanye should have contacted him on Facebook instead.
West appeared serious and agreed, adding,
“Yes, I should have put it on Facebook. Now I understand why he didn’t hit me back. I understand that Zuckerberg doesn’t use Twitter, even though I have had dinner with he and his wife and told him about how I wanted to help the world and he said he’d help me and blah blah blah.”
West began going off on a tangent, but his main idea included wanting to help others. He said,
“F*** the paparazzi, whatever perception you have of me. Starting with the truth, starting with what everyone is thinking. Start there, and put some dope s*** with it.”
DeGeneres appeared to be speechless as West continued and just let him have the floor.Kanye went on to claim that the world is in a
renaissance period where people can have influence in all different types of fields. He shared personal stories about his father living in homeless shelters and his mother being the first black female chair in the English department at Chicago State University. The rapper said,
I was raised to do something, to make a difference.
Kanye said he doesn’t care about how many albums are sold and it’s about connecting before talking about influential people that have passed on.
“Picasso is dead. Steve Jobs is dead. Walt Disney is dead. Name somebody living that you can name in the same breath as them. Don’t tell me about being likable.”
Kanye said that he now has to be the Michael Jackson of apparel to break open the doors for everyone coming after him. He finished his rant by stating,
“Isn’t that so funny that people point fingers at the people that influenced us the most? They talk the most shit about the people who care the most. I’m sorry daytime television. I’m sorry for the realness.”
The rapper was beaming when asked about his children, daughter North and son Saint.
The Life Of Pablo rapper and Ellen had a battle of wits all in good fun with the game ‘5 Second Rule.’
We never know how to feel about Kanye West. He can appear to be a total jerk that thinks he is a genius, but then appears emotional at times expressing how he wants to make a difference in the world. What do you guys think?
