Kanye West had been in love with Kim Kardashian for years before they became serious and married. Yeezy is not about to let a hunky bodyguard come between him and his reality star wife. And now the fired bodyguard is speaking out on what really went down, calling Kanye the “most self-absorbed person he has ever met.”
The rapper reportedly fired former NYPD officer and Chippendales dancer-turned bodyguard, Steve Stanulis, ahead of Monday night’s Met Gala in New York City. The 39-year-old rapper flew into a rage after he found the bodyguard talking to Kim outside of her hotel room at the Waldorf Astoria.
West walked out of his room on the 36th floor and spotted Steve handing Kim a package that had arrived for them. Kanye reportedly asked Steve why he was talking to his wife and the rapper screeched out, “This isn’t right!”
Kanye obviously felt threatened by the handsome former stripper and fired him.
This actually isn’t the first incident that made Kanye jealous. The rapper and bodyguard reportedly actually came to blows when Kanye caught Steve “flirting” with the 35-year-old reality star during New York Fashion Week in February.
Stanulis is a former NYPD officer who performed his regular NYPD duties by day, but worked as a dancer “Savage Steve” in the evenings. He retired from the police force in 2002 and worked with the Savage Men dance group.
He already had two years with Chippendales by the time he became a New York police officer. His “Savage Steve” alter-ego helped him land body guarding jobs. He has protected many celebrities.
Kardashian and West walked the red carpet of the Met Gala and they did not look very happy.
The couple wore silver sequined Balmain designs, with Kim’s gown prompting some rather funny memes the following day.
Steve Stanulis shared a copy of a newspaper article on Facebook:
The bodyguard also sat down for an interview and called Kanye the “most self-absorbed person he’s ever met.”
