Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes are great at keeping secrets, even a pregnancy! The 42-year-old actress gave birth to a baby girl on April 29 in Los Angeles.
The beautiful couple named their second daughter Amada Lee. She joins her big sister, Esmeralda, who was born in September 2014.
Baby Amada Lee was born at 8:03 a.m. in Santa Monica at Providence St. John’s Health Center, according to the birth certificate.
There were reports that Mendes was pregnant just two weeks before the stunning actress gave birth. US Weekly stated that Eva was attempting to conceal a baby bump during a photo shoot. But Eva did an awesome job keeping the pregnancy under wraps.
Eva and Ryan named their baby girl Amada, which is the name of Eva’s grandmother and means ‘beloved’ in Spanish. It’s also the name of the character the actress played in the 2007 movie “We Own The Night”.
Eva Mendes and Ryan were spotted taking their daughter Esmeralda out for a Mother’s Day lunch on Sunday, but there was no sign of baby Amada.
Amada’s birth came less than two weeks after the death of Mendes’ older brother Carlos following a long battle with cancer.
Gosling recently gushed over his family to Hello! magazine, saying, “I’m with the person I’m supposed to be with – I’m not looking for anything else beyond Eva – and I feel very lucky that we have a beautiful, healthy daughter, who is an angel. That’s investment enough for me.”
The hunky actor was asked about how he fares as a father, replying, “You’d have to ask my girlfriend really – all I can say is that it’s important for me to be there for my daughter and that I want to be there too, because it’s so fun. Being a dad isn’t rocket science – I can handle it.”
Eva and Ryan have been dating since September 2011, after meeting on set of their movie “The Place Beyond The Pines”.
