Nev Schulman took to Twitter on Wednesday to announce that he and girlfriend Laura Perlongo were expecting their first child together. He captioned the photo of Laura, 30, having an ultrasound, “AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! I’m having a baby!”

He also shared a link to a post written by his freelance writer girlfriend on how they conceived.

In her detailed post, Laura revealed she was actually high on marijuana candy when she took a pregnancy test and found out she was expecting.

Perlongo wrote, “I knew right away I wanted this baby. I was strong. I was smart. I was full of love. I COULD DO THIS! I was confident I’d be great. Nev was confident he would be great. HE COULD DO THIS!”

Laura revealed that she and Nev had only been dating for seven months including a break in August.

Perlongo, 30, shared a post on Instagram and joked that she had eaten a big sandwich that “had a heartbeat.”

Nev also posted another photo to Instagram showing himself kissing Laura on the forehead while she was getting an ultrasound. Nev confirmed they were having a baby girl, saying he is so excited about becoming a dad.

The couple have been dating long-distance and although the pregnancy was a surprise, they had discussed wanting to start a family.

Nev started hosting the MTV online dating docu-series “Catfish: The TV Show” in November 2012 after being the subject of the 2010 documentary movie “Catfish” about his own experience being tricked by an online dater. The movie raked in $3.5 million at the box office.
