A brave young man named Jarrod Haschert took a chance and posted a video on YouTube asking his “crush”, UFC champ Ronda Rousey, to be his date for the Marine Corps Ball.
And she said yes!
Dressed in his fatigues, Jarrod admitted, “You are my celebrity crush. I love everything that you do, and I think that you are a phenomenal person.
“It would be my honor to take you to the Marine Corps ball on December 11.”
A TMZ reporter caught up with Ronda and asked if she had viewed the viral video from the young U.S. Marine.
Rousey admitted she saw the clip and would happy to attend.
She was just unsure how to get in touch with the 22-year-old soldier.
Jarrod first shared the video on Facebook on August 22, which soon had over four and a half million views.
Rousey said, “I was like, ‘Oh, I can’t go anyway, because I’m in camp’, but the fight got moved, so I actually can go. But I don’t know how to, like, hit him up and say, ‘Yeah, I wanna go with you.'”
She went to say, “I would go, for sure. But I don’t know how. Do I call him? Or do I set up a time and place, like Never Been Kissed, and just show up, and have him waiting there until the clock runs out, and be like, ‘I’m here!”‘
Rousey replied, “He’s cute! I don’t know. He’s gotta be a gentleman. I’m not a [sleeping together on the] first date kind of a girl.”
The Marine later told TMZ Sports that he did plan on being a gentleman.
Jarrod said, “I’m not gonna try to make any moves. It’s all about being a Marine and being a gentleman. Just having her there is gonna be amazing enough.”
