How can we help but adore Dwayne Johnson (aka The Rock) ?
Johnson may look like a tough guy, but appears to have a heart of gold. Over Labor Day weekend, the actor jumped fully clothed into his swimming pool to rescue his new puppy. Aww…
The 43-year-old posted on Instagram about the scary moment his puppy nearly drowned and he had to jump in to save him.
The “San Andreas” had just brought his two French bulldog puppies home, taking them outside so they could “start learning how to handle their business and potty like big boys”.
He posted a photo of himself in his pool holding his two new adorable pups Brutus and Hobbs, sharing his Labor Day scare.
The photo shows the muscular star holding his new babies, telling his 26.2 million followers, “Here’s a fun Labor Day weekend story… ”
Dwayne explained, “I set them both down and they both take off in a full sprint and fall right into the deep end of the pool.
“Hobbs immediately starts doggy paddling while Brutus (like a brick) sink heads first to the bottom of the pool.”
Johnson didn’t hesitate and ran fully clothed to jump into his pool to save little Brutus.
The actor said, “I take off into a full sprint, fully clothed, dive in the pool, swim to the bottom, rescue my brick, I mean BRUTUS and bring him back to the edge of the pool.
“He was a little delirious.. took a moment, threw up all the water he swallowed and looked up at me as if to say, ‘Thank God you didn’t have to give me mouth to mouth!’ and then ran off to play with his brother.”
The former wrestler went on to add, “We just decided to add two new members to our Johnson family. Baby French Bulldogs. In my right hand is BRUTUS and in my left hand is HOBBS”.
The puppy rescue was successful but Dwayne forgot in his panic to remove his cell phone from his pocket before jumping into action.
Johnson wrote, “A few lessons I’ve learned today.. A) Not all puppies have the instinct to doggie paddle. B) Some puppies (like BRUTUS) will be so in shock by experiencing water they will sink extremely fast so react quick. C) While spiriting to save your puppies life, before you dive in, try and throw your cel phone to safety. Don’t keep it in your pocket… like I did.”
Despite his tough guy exterior, the actor has made no secret of his love of animals and often posts cute photos of himself and animals.
We are betting his near-drowning puppy incident will come in handy for when he plays a life guard in the remake of the popular television series, “Baywatch”.
