Zayn Malik and Perrie Edwards have called it quits.
The former One Direction singer called off his engagement to the Little Mix star two weeks ago, leaving her totally devastated.
Malik left One Direction to try and “save their relationship”.
An insider revealed, “Perrie is absolutely devastated. Zayn called off the engagement two weeks ago, she’s so upset.”
Perrie, 22, is currently having to promote her band’s new single, flying out to Los Angeles with her bandmates.
Both Perrie and Zayn, 22, are in Los Angeles right now but they have not seen each other.
The source said, “Perrie is being a trooper about it and putting on a brave face but she’s devastated. She’s doesn’t know what he’s thinking. She’s going to go out and promote the new single but obviously the timing could not be worse, especially when she’s going to be doing so many interviews.”
A source close to Zayn claims the singer wants a “fresh start”, wanting to “move on and start over in all ways”.
A source said, “Perrie’s being supported by her bandmates, but she’s really in pieces about this.”
Zayn publicly apologized after a photo of him with his fling, Lauren Richardson, in Thailand made headlines.
Malik tried to cover his tracks, tweeting about loving Perrie and saying he was “sorry for how it looks”. Umm…sure!
Just a few days later, Zayn announced his departure from One Direction.
Angry fans believed Perrie had convinced him to quit.
Fans took to Twitter to state they were happy Malik dumped his fiance. They obviously don’t care that she is heartbroken.
Rume Ugen tweeted, “Wow. Zayn Malik is really cutting all the dead weight! Sorry not sorry #Perrie.”
Another user Stephanie wrote, “secret time: perrie is trash and didn’t deserve zayn”.
Aniqa tweeted, “I’ve been wanting Zayn to leave Perrie’s chalky ass since they first got engaged so today is a very holy day”.
Wow! Pretty cruel!
Zayn and Perrie had been dating since December 2011, after meeting on the set of the X Factor.
Their friendship developed into a romance after Perrie’s band Little Mix won the competition’s eighth series.
Malik just announced he had signed a new solo record deal with RCA Records last week.
