Nicole Scherzinger and Ed Sheeran have reportedly been spending time together, following her split with Lewis Hamilton in February.
Nicole, 37, and Ed, 24, are said to be “in the early stages of dating”. Are you surprised at this celebrity coupling?
The former Pussycat Doll and X Factor judge found comfort in Ed’s beautiful songs and they reportedly hit it off.
Nicole joined the Don’t singer backstage at one of his Wembley Stadium gigs last month and three days later he took her to his home town in Suffolk, where they enjoyed a drink together at his local pub.
A source stated, “As far as he’s concerned they were in the early stages of dating and he’s been open about it with close friends and colleagues”.
Another source stated, “When she split from Lewis, she was heartbroken but ended up playing Ed’s songs on a loop.”
Nicole’s pal adds, “They’re extremely close. Nicole says he is the male version of her.”
Ed split from 24-year-old Athina Andrelos in March. Ed and Athina had dated for a year.
Sheeran has also been romantically involved with singer Ellie Goulding in the past, but joked last month that his love life was ‘non-existent’.
The Lego House singer explained in an interview that since his split from Athina, his romantic life has been put on hold.
He was asked in an interview about love life in an interview, stating, “It’s actually non-existent at the moment. I’m not in anything.
“My relationship ended and then the day after it ended I was in the Middle East, Asia, South America, New Zealand – I was just gone and in my mind I had no time to settle with it. So I was just working, working, working…
“So yeah I’m still kind of in that space, I’m still in my working space. I haven’t really had time to sit back and re-evaluate personal life, because I don’t really have a personal life”.
Nicole split from Lewis Hamilton in February, after dating for seven years off and on.
Nicole hinted that she and Lewis had become ‘complacent’.
She said, “Sometimes people stay in relationships because they get complacent, because it’s comfortable for them, because they don’t want to be alone”.
Scherzinger added, “For me, what’s helped me to get through this is I’m a quite spiritual person. It’s grounded me, and I realize that I do have a great purpose in life. If relationships or people in your lives are meant to be, then they will come back around, but that shouldn’t be what’s holding you back.”
