Miley Cyrus Reveals Robin Thicke Wanted Her As “Naked As Possible” For VMA Performance (VIDEOS)

Miley Cyrus’ risque twerking performance during her performance with Robin Thicke at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards caused lots of controversy.

Thicke tried to play it off like he had no idea what Cyrus was going to do, but in a new interview she reveals he wanted her to be as “naked as possible”. Hmm..

The Blurred Lines singer has always denied he knew what Miley Cyrus was going to do when they hit the stage at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards.

But Miley called Robin out in her new interview with the New York Times, stating he definitely knew she was going to twerk and bump-and-grind on him in a skimpy costume.

Miley said, “He acted like he didn’t know that was going to happen. You were in rehearsals! You knew exactly what was going to happen.  And he was actually the one that approved my outfit, so I thought that was very funny. He wanted me as naked as possible.”

There were rumors following the performance that Robin’s wife at the time, Paula Patton, was enraged and confronted Miley backstage after the performance.

Cyrus, who spoke to the publication ahead of her hosting the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, the 22-year-old also revealed she was amazed that people found the performance so shocking.

The Wrecking Ball singer said, “I can’t believe that was a big deal. It wasn’t shocking at all.”

She admitted she felt judged afterwards, not only by strangers but by her friends too.

Miley revealed people also assumed she was on drugs when she performed the song, which she says was not the case.

Miley said she is going to try an recreate her Instagram account at this years awards, which will probably be quirky and quite colorful.

She even admitted she isn’t familiar with this year’s nominees, explaining, “I don’t really listen to this music. I’m probably the most disconnected host in history. I don’t have TV”.

The Video Music Awards air at 9 p.m. this Sunday on MTV.
