Charlize Theron is now the mother of two, after adopting a baby girl.
The Mad Max: Fury Road actress has been working with the US adoption agency for the past six months but took custody of the baby in July.
The baby is reportedly of African-American descent and was reportedly born in the United States in July. She has named her new addition August.
The 39-year-old actress already has one child. Theron adopted a son, 3-year-old Jackson, in 2012. Jackson was born in South Africa, where Theron was born and raised.
Theron, who normally keeps quiet on her private life, discussed adopting her son in 2012.
On the Ellen DeGeneres show, Theron said, “My mom said the most beautiful thing. I’m going to cry. She said…’It took me nine months to fall in love with you while you were growing in my stomach.’ She’s like, ‘It took you two years to fall in love with this little baby.'”
“It really took two years of just waiting and then one day it’s finally there,” she said. “It just feels exactly how it’s supposed to feel. I don’t know how to describe it. It just feels right.”
Theron has raised Jackson as a single parent and has also adopted August by herself.
Charlize and her children live in Los Angeles.
In May, Theron admitted she was open to the idea of adopting more children.
She was asked if she would like to have more children, replying, ” Yeah. I mean, I’m so open to anything in my life. I was never like, ‘Oh god no just one.’ I was always kind of open to whatever kind of happens.”
The decision to welcome another child comes just before her 40th birthday on August 7.
But they called it quits in June. The awkward part is they had to film scenes for The Last Face, a movie Charlize stars in and her ex-fiance directed.
