Tom Cruise has some experience singing, doing a really horrific karaoke in the film “Top Gun”.
But Cruise shows he is much better at “pretending” to sing as he went up against Jimmy Fallon in a lip sync battle on The Tonight Show.
The 53-year-old appeared on Monday’s show, ahead of his premiere of his latest Mission Impossible movie Rogue Nation.
Cruise looked handsome in an all black as he showed off his lip-sync skills and a bit of dancing.
Tom appeared amused that he was even doing the battle, saying, “This is so ridiculous. I love it.”
Cruise was the first one up and won over the crowd with his fake-singing of Can’t Feel My Face by The Weeknd. He was helped out by some awesome back-lighting that added to his performance.
Fallon was up next and got into his impersonation of Mick Jagger for The Rolling Stones tune Undercover Of The Night.
The host appeared a little nervous when Cruise slid to the microphone as Old Time Rock And Roll started to play.
We all remember that scene in his underwear in the movie “Risky Business”.
Cruise said, “That wouldn’t be fair would it”.
He then lip-synced the Meatloaf song Paradise By The Dashboard Light that made the audience go nuts.
Fallon’s final performance was to You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling, an ode to the scene in the 1986 movie Top Gun.
Cruise joined him in the song as they serenaded a woman in the audience.
The actor admitted he would be open to starring in a sequel to the 80s movie Top Gun.
He stated, “It would be fun. I would like to get back into those jets. It would have to be practical. I don’t want any CGI jets. I want to shoot it like how we shot the first one.”
