Dwayne Johnson (The Rock) Takes The High Road On Hulk Hogan Comments (VIDEO)

The Rock is a class act

WWE recently dropped Hulk Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea, severing all ties with him after he was caught on tape making racist comments.

Dwayne Johnson, The Rock, spoke about the controversy during a recent press tour.

The hunky wrestler-turned-actor did admit he was disappointed in hearing the comments, but also stated he does not believe Hulk is a racist.

The Rock was promoting the hit HBO series Ballers at the Television Critics Association in Beverly Hills, when he was asked about the Hogan scandal and his racist rant.

Dwayne’s father, Rocky Johnson, actually helped train Hulk Hogan in the 1970s so he has known Hogan for many, many years.

Johnson admits that some people might say things considered offensive behind closed doors, but did state he was pretty disappointed to hear that from Hogan.

Hulk Hogan fired from WWE

He told the HBO network’s Television Critics Association’s reporters, “I was pretty disappointed with what I heard… I’ve known Terry for a lot of years, and my dad helped train him in Florida in the ’70s when he was breaking into the business.

“I come from a very long lineage of professional wrestlers. I had not known the man to be racist… It’s funny, it’s one of those things where I’m not justifying what he said… We’ve all talked trash, you know, especially in private. He said what he said, and he’s paying the price.”
