Amanda Peterson, a television and movie actress best known for her role as the love interest of Patrick Dempsey in “Can’t Buy Me Love” in 1987, has passed away at age 43.
Her father reveals she suffered from sleep apnea and had been living in a home with mold issues a year ago. R.I.P.
Peterson died at her home in Greeley, Colorado.
Her father revealed they had not heard from her since July 3rd and her body was discovered in her home on July 5.
The exact cause of death is not known, but her father stated, “She had some illness and a sleep apnea problem that may have contributed.”
Peterson had been dealing with several medical issues over the past 2 years. which included pneumonia, sinusitis and sleep apnea.
He also stated Amanda lived in a home with mold problems, but that she had moved out last year.
Peterson became famous for her role as Cindy Mancini opposite Patrick Dempsey in the 1987 romantic comedy, where a nerdy guy pays her to pretend to be his girlfriend.
Amanda Peterson also appeared on television including A Year in the Life, also guest-starring on Doogie Howser, M.D. and Silver Spoons.
