Carey Mulligan and her husband Marcus Mumford, frontman for Mumford & Sons, are reportedly expecting their first child.
The actress has been spotted wearing loose clothing recently and certainly appeared to have a small baby bump at the 2015 Tony Awards on Sunday night.
A source close to the 30-year-old actress stated, “They weren’t planning on announcing, but she hasn’t stopped working. Everybody around her is being very supportive. The show ends soon and they’re going back to England after.”
Carey has fueled pregnancy speculation by wearing trapeze-style dresses and loose shirts since May.
The actress and Oscar nominee, who lost out on the Best Actress Tony Award on Sunday night to Helen Mirren, tied the knot with the Mumford & Sons frontman in 2012.
Carey and Marcus have a rather sweet and romantic back-story, with being childhood pen pals before reconnecting as adults by their mutual friend Jake Gyllenhaal.
Mulligan recently admitted she is looking forward to play darker roles now that she is finally started to look a bit older.
She explained, “I spent a lot of my early 20s playing teenagers because of my baby face. My agent has started saying, ‘You’ve been offered this part, she’s 19, you’re too old’, and I’m like, ‘I’m too old? Brilliant! I’ve never been too old’. All the great parts come now, I think, so I’m excited.'”
She adds, “I like dark characters, and it’s fun to do things that are difficult, because I’m very happy and have had a very lovely, charmed life, lovely parents, lovely family and lovely education. It’s very easy to play things that you know – it’s when you have to play things that you don’t really understand that it gets fun.”
