Charlize Theron and Sean Penn have been dating for 18 months, but are so head-over-heels in love that they are ready to tie the knot.

Theron and Penn are reportedly planning to marry in August in her hometown of Johannesburg, South Africa.

The Hollywood couple plan to marry on Charlize’s 40th birthday on August 7.

The Daily Star reported, “They are going to slip away to South Africa and get married in August, probably on Charlize’s birthday. It’ll be a small affair, very intimate in Johannesburg, which is Charlize’s home town… They have been looking at chapels in Soweto and a string quartet has been approached to perform.”

Sean Penn adopting Charlize Theron's son?

The nuptials will be just a few days before Sean Penn’s August 17 birthday, when he will turn 55.

There have previously been rumors that Theron and Penn were engaged in July, 2014, after she was spotted wearing a large diamond ring at the Los Angeles airport in July 2015.

If the reports are accurate, this will be Sean Penn’s third walk down the aisle. The Milk star was married to singer Madonna from 1985 to 1989. Sean then went on to tie the knot with actress Robin Wright in 1996, before divorcing in 2010.

Charlize Theron & Sean Penn to marry?

Charlize Theron has never been married, but she dated hot Irish actor Stuart Townsend for nine years from 2001 to 2010.

Theron adopted a son on her own named Jackson in March 2012.

Charlize and Sean started dating in June, 2014.

The statuesque beauty previously shared that she would love to add to her family.

She said, “Yeah. I mean, I’m so open to anything in my life. I was never like, ‘Oh god no just one.’ I was always kind of open to whatever kind of happens.”

In January, Sean gushed over Charlize and said their relationship is “more passionate, deeper, truer” than his marriages.

He even said that if he did marry Theron that it would be his first marriage.

He explained, “You say I’ve been married twice before, but I’ve been married under circumstances where I was less informed than I am today. So I wouldn’t even consider it a third marriage, I’d consider it a first marriage on its own terms if I got married again.”
