Ryan Reynolds is starring as the comic character Deadpool, Wade Wilson, for the Marvel superhero movie and took time to meet with a young fan battling cancer.
The actor is currently filming in Vancouver, Canada and was approached by the Make-A-Wish Foundation to make little Tony Acevedo’s dream come true.
The 38-year-old actor posted cute photos from their meeting on Friday.
In the caption, the actor joked that the boy had beaten him up, writing, “Tony Acevedo asked Make A Wish Foundation if he could meet Deadpool. I wasn’t expecting him to sneak the mask, put on the gloves, smile… and then beat Deadpool about the face, arms and jugular with blazing speed.”
The new dad, who welcomed baby daughter James in December (14), then added, “Tony’s next fight is with Hodgkin’s Disease… Huge thanks to @makeawishamerica.”
In the Marvel comic books, Deadpool’s alter ego, Wilson, is also battling cancer. His mutant super power is an accelerated healing factor.
Last week, Ryan gave fans a peek of his five-month-old daughter James embracing his thumb with her tiny hand.
Reynolds joked, “Thumb wrestling isn’t always fair. Curiously, my hand is the small one”.
The Mississippi Grind hunk and his wife Blake Lively will celebrate their third wedding anniversary on September 9.
The 27-year-old actor recently stated, “Having a baby is just living in the constant unexpected. You never know when you’re going to get crapped on or when you’re going to get a big smile or when that smile immediately turns into hysterics. It might be like living with a drug addict.”
