Reality show star Josh Duggar, the oldest of Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar’s 19 children, reportedly was named in an underage sex assault probe when he was 17.
The religious Duggar family is featured on TLC’s “19 Kids and Counting”. We imagine fans will be pretty shocked to hear the child molestation allegations.
Josh, 28, his pregnant wife Anna, 26, have three children together and live in Arkansas.
A report claims that Josh’s father Jim Bob turned him in to Arkansas State Police after “he caught him leaving a young girl’s bedroom and learned something inappropriate happened.”
A source said, “I saw and read the report and it clearly stated that Jim Bob brought his son Josh into the Arkansas State Police and spoke to a state trooper about Josh’s involvement in alleged inappropriate touching with a minor.”
The charge being pursued at that time was sexual assault in the fourth degree.
But in a strange twist, the state trooper that took the report in 2005 was later arrested and convicted on “child pornography charges” himself. He is serving 56 in prison.
In the wake of the trooper’s arrest, someone in the police department reportedly contacted the Child Abuse Hotline, leading to Crimes Against Children Division and Springdale Police Department involving themselves in the case.
But by that time, the statue of limitations had passed.
An insider stated, “A technicality prevented any further action. That’s been the biggest regret in all of this.”
