David Letterman only has less than a month of shows to do before he officially retires from his late night gig, with Stephen Colbert as his replacement.

Letterman is hand-picking his final guests and invited Tracy Chapman to perform one of his favorite songs, Ben E. King’s classic “Stand By Me”. She did a beautiful and emotional performance. Check it out!

In his intro, Letterman explained there were two songs that he loved as a kid, Simon & Garfunkel’s “America” and Ben E. King’s classic “Stand By Me”.

David Letterman invited Chapman, known best for her Grammy-winning hits “Fast Car”, “Baby Can I Hold You Tonight” and “Give Me One Reason”, to perform and she certainly didn’t disappoint.

There is something so beautiful about her voice. She has such a unique voice that is just full of emotion when she sings.

Chapman is just as talented as when her album was released in the late 80s. She won a Grammy for Best Folk Album.
