We adore Robert Downey Jr., not only because he is super hot but seems like such a nice guy.

He has been through tough times in his past that he has overcome, but you could see him getting emotional when an interviewer pressured him about his past drug and alcohol abuse and his relationship with his father. It’s sad to watch.

The Hollywood star sat down with Channel 4’s Krishnan Guru-Murthy in central London on Tuesday, while promoting his film Avengers: Age of Ultron.

The 50 year-old was clearly upset when the line of questioning suddenly got personal.

Robert Downey Jr's interview turns personal

Downey Jr. was very polite, even when deciding to leave the interview early.

Guru-Murthy asked questions about Robert’s personal demons and it was very clear the actor was breathing quickly and appearing teary-eyed.

The news anchor asked Downey Jr to explain a comment in a five year-old interview with the New York Times, in which he said, “You can’t go from a $2,000-a-night suite at La Mirage to a penitentiary and really understand it and come out a liberal”.

Downey Jr. said, “I could pick that apart for two hours and be no closer to the truth than giving you some half-arsed answer right now. I couldn’t even tell you what a liberal is”.

You would think the interviewer would be picking up on clues he was upsetting the actor, but continued to push things.

He asked about Downey Jr’s past issues with drugs and alcohol and if he had that beat. The interviewer went a step further asking about the star’s relationship with his father.

Robert stood up and said, “I’m sorry, I really don’t …what are we doing?”, before walking out of the interview.

Guru-Murthy almost appeared amused with the actor’s reaction. He smiled and had a staff member remove the actor’s microphone.

Even upset, Robert was still kind and told the interviewer that “It’s all getting a bit Diane Sawyer”.

Fans were not happy seeing the interviewer, with one person writing, “God, Krish you can be an a–. When your interviewee is uncomfortable, don’t keep pressing them. Props to RDJ for ending it.”

Another simply stated, “No class at all.”

Some people can be so cruel. All he cared about was getting a reaction from the actor. Makes us mad to watch!
