Kim Richards has reportedly checked herself into a Malibu facility for substance abuse, following her arrest for nine days ago.
The 50-year-old reality star recently stormed out of an interview with Dr. Phil and her children, after realizing it was an intervention.
Richards finally agreed to go to rehab after talking with her family.
The mother-of-four plans to stay at the inpatient treatment center “for as long as it takes”.
Kim was arrested on April 16 at The Beverly Hills Hotel after getting drunk and annoying other guests. She then locked herself into a bathroom and refused to leave and police were called.
The reality star made things worse after she kicked a police officer as she was being booked into jail.
On Thursday, details of her arrest were shared as she sat down with Dr. Phil.
Kim told Dr. Phil, “I’m beating myself up over this. I poured a drink of vodka, and I thought, ‘Oh my God, what have I done?'”.
Dr. Phil asked Kim, “Are you living a lie telling everyone, ‘I’ve been sober for three years'”?
Three of her children were present as the host told Kim, “You were drunk in a bar fighting with a cop – that is not good mothering”.
Kim appeared surprised by his comments and then asked him, “Is this an intervention? I’m sorry I can’t, I’m sorry.”
She stormed out.
Richards left the interview in tears and her son Chad was heard pleading with his mother to go to rehab. He revealed his mother is also taking pills and smoking weed in addition to drinking.
An eyewitness at the hotel said, “Kim insisted that any program had to fit her needs, saying she wouldn’t go out of state, wanted to do a 30-day not 60-day program, didn’t want to miss her daughter Brooke’s wedding in May and was worried about being away from Monty.”
Kim’s ex-husband Monty Brinson, who is battling lung, brain and spine cancer, leans on her for support.
On the Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills, Kim is constantly being told off by her fellow housewives for her drinking, most of all by her sister Kyle.
