Point Break star John Philbin has been jailed for 30 days for brandishing a loaded gun during a domestic dispute.
The 54-year-old actor, who has also starred in Return of the Living Dead and Tombstone, was given 30 days in county jail and three years probation after pleading no contest to a misdemeanor weapons charge.
Philbin was credited with 26 days served so will only serve a short time behind bars.
The judge also ordered Philbin to complete a 52 week AA program and domestic violence classes.
John Philbin was arrested by police on Saturday February 28 after neighbors called police after they heard a heated argument between the actor and his girlfriend.
Police arrived to the scene and were told Philbin had been waving the gun around and had stepped outside his home with the firearm.
The domestic incident ended with Philbin handing over the gun to a neighbor, and being taken into custody.
Philbin now works as a professional surf instructor but has appeared in many movies.
In Point Break, he played the role of Nathaniel, part of a gang of surfers infiltrated by an undercover FBI agent who suspects them of being bank robbers.
He also is known for his role as Turtle in the film North Shore.
He starred as Chuck in Return of the Living Dead and as Amos in Children of the corn. Philbin was also in the film Tombstone with Kurt Russell and Val Kilmer.
He last filmed Undateable John with Daryl Hannah, Shannen Doherty, Tom Arnold and Estella Warren. The film, about a slacker surfer who falls for a beautiful woman while in AA, is in post production but should be released in 2015.
