“Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” matriarch June Shannon, aka Mama June, sat down for an interview with Inside Edition as her 15-year-old daughter, Pumpkin, revealed she is bisexual.
Pumpkin then announced that her mother is too, with Mama June confirming it was true.
Mama June was asked if she was sexually attracted to both men and women, she replied, “I am, yes. I’m not going to lie.”
Pumpkin, whose real name is Lauryn, told Inside Edition she is happy to have a supportive mother.
She said, “I am thankful that I have the support that other people don’t have. You cannot hide who you truly are.”
The interview was originally supposed to be about Pumpkin revealing her sexual orientation, but she blurted out that her mother is ‘gay too’.
Smiling at her daughter, Mama June chimed in to clarify, “bisexual.”
Pumpkin disagreed, telling her mother, “Yeah, you did go pro.”
Mama June said that she doesn’t care what other people think of her revelation, explaining, “I look at it this way, haters are going to hate.”
The 35-year-old said she has had three lesbian experiences in another interview.
The former TLC star is estranged from her husband Sugar Bear, but says the are trying to work things out.
But if things don’t work out, she stated, “It’s open season. I will keep ALL my options open.”
Here Comes Honey Boo Boo was canceled by TLC last October following reports June was dating a convicted child molester.
In 2014, Here Comes Honey Boo Boo fans learned that Mama June was involved in a sexual relationship with her ex-boyfriend, a convicted pedophile who had recently left prison after serving 10 years for molesting a child.
A TLC rep said at the time, “TLC has cancelled the series Here Comes Honey Boo Boo and ended all activities around the series, effective immediately. Supporting the health and welfare of these remarkable children is our only priority. TLC is faithfully committed to the children’s ongoing comfort and well-being”.
