Vin Diesel shared on the Today Show that he named his newborn daughter Pauline in honor of his late friend, actor Paul Walker.
Diesel became emotional discussing how he could feel Walker’s presence in the delivery room.
The Fast & Furious actor told Today Show’s Natalie Morales as they were flying in a helicopter over Los Angeles, unable to hold back his tears.
The 47-year-old actor explained, “While I was in the hospital, the name that I will give you is… I named her… I named her Pauline.”
He said he knew Paul was there supporting him and his girlfriend Paloma Jimenez, earlier this month when she gave birth to the little girl.
Vin said, “There’s no other person that I was thinking about as I was cutting this umbilical cord. I just thought… I knew he was there and it felt like, you know, a way to keep his memory a part of my family and a part of my world.”

The actor has been having a rough time dealing with Paul’s death, which we all understand is something that you never get over.
Paul died at the age of 40 after the car he was a passenger in crashed in November 2013, killing him and the driver.
Last week at the preview screening of his new film Furious 7 in Los Angeles, California, Vin broke down in tears.
He told the audience in the theater, “This film was a labor of love. It was in some ways it was the hardest movie I’ve ever had to do because the relationships you see on film are so real. When the tragedy happened, I lost my best friend. I lost my brother.”
Most of Paul’s scenes were already filmed before his passing, but his brothers, Cody and Caleb, stepped in for a few remaining scenes.
The plot, once again filled with high speed car crashes, sees Vin, Paul and co-stars Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris and Michelle Rodriguez take on a villain (Jason Statham) in cities across the world.
