Singer Lil’ Chris, whose real name is Christopher James Hardman, has died at the age of 24 in his hometown of Lowestoft. There is no cause of death revealed yet, but he did struggle with depression.
Lil’ Chris found fame at the age of 15 after being featured in the second series of Rock School, in which Kiss rocker Gene Simmons attempted to form a band from students at Kirkley High School in Lowestoft.

Kiss frontman Gene Simmons, tweeted, “Sad to report Lil Chris from the Gene Simmons Rock School TV show, has passed on. He was loved. RIP, Lil Chris.”
He later told Mirror Online, “Lil Chris was a kind, little soul. I will greatly miss his smile and his spirit. I knew there was something special about him as soon as I met him.”
He was offered a solo deal and went on to have a top five hit in 2006 with his song Checkin’ It Out.
Dodgeon said, “He was an outstanding talent and it was a pleasure to work with him. Our thoughts are with his friends and family.”
A Suffolk Police spokeswoman stated, “Police investigating the sudden death of a man in Lowestoft can confirm they are not treating it as suspicious. Officers received a call from the ambulance service on Monday 23 March at around 11:45 am and attended an address in Union Road following a sudden death of a 24-year-old man.
“A post mortem examination is due to take place to establish the cause of death and a file will be passed to the coroner in due course and an inquest opened.”
The cause of death is currently unknown but Suffolk police revealed the death was not suspicious.
Lil’ Chris was in the middle of planning a musical comeback, but a recent tweet made it sound he was giving up on his dreams.
He tweeted, “Thinking about quitting music forever … there has to come a time eventually when I have to face reality. I’m just not good enough”.
Lil’ Chris suffered from depression, something he was open about.
He said, “I hope to one day create a way out of depression that doesn’t mean taking your own life. Depression really sucks. Learning how to notice it can save lives and your own feelings at times. Take time to understand it, for everybody.”
His most recent song he was working on was posted on Youtube, eerily was listed under his channel ‘LilChrisisdead”, shows him strumming a guitar.
