Nick Gordon, the boyfriend of Bobbi Kristina Brown who is still on life support in the hospital, sat down to talk to Dr. Phil after posting suicidal tweets.
The interview turned into an intervention, which is not going over well with Bobbi Kristina Brown’s family.
The interview comes after Gordon posted worrying messages on Twitter that appeared to suggest he is suicidal.
Gordon found Bobbi Kristina face down and unresponsive in the bath tub of their Georgia home on January 31.
He administered CPR until paramedics arrived at the scene.
Bobbi Kristina, 22, has been at an Atlanta hospital in a medically induced coma ever since. Her family marked her birthday on March 5 by gathering around her bedside.
On the even of Bobbi’s birthday, Nick posted on Twitter, “Happy Birthday baby I wish I was there with you to hold you and be by your side. I’m Close to you baby. I’m so hurt I wanna do myself in, I know I have to strong.” (sic)
Gordon’s fans and friends became concerned and Dr. Phil flew to Atlanta yesterday to try and help him.
Nick sat down with Dr. Phil for what he believed would be an interview about his girlfriend, but it was actually an intervention staged by Dr. Phil and Gordon’s mother Michelle.
The interview took place at an Atlanta hotel, where Gordon was allegedly so drunk and high that he had to be pushed around on a luggage cart.
After Nick realized the meeting was an intervention, he became violent and allegedly punched two of Dr. Phil’s staffers. He did enter rehab after the interview taping.
Leolah Brown penned an open letter to Dr. Phil, writing:
“Dr. Phil, With all due respect, Nick Gordon is under investigation for the attempted murder of my niece Bobby Kristina Brown.
We have strong evidence of foul play. Until this investigation is completed by law enforcement, I would ask that you or anyone else not provide this individual a platform to spin this situation to his benefit.
If Nick Gordon does not have the courage to speak with my brother Bobby Brown and/or law enforcement about what happened the day my niece’s body was found in a bathtub, he does not deserve to have a platform to speak to anyone of your caliber until this investigation is concluded.
Respectfully, Leolah Brown.”
The whole incident is very sad, but we all have to remember there is his side, her side, and then there’s the truth.
We all realize most people that are alcoholics or drug addicts are trying to rid themselves of pain from their past. Those demons haunt them and they turn to whatever substance they can to survive or numb the pain.
We will have to wait for the investigation to be completed to truly understand how this tragedy came to pass.
