Johnny Depp injured his hand over the weekend in Australia, where he is currently filming Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.
There are no specific details on the cause of the injury, but an insider said it did not occur on the set of the film. The injury is obviously bad enough to require surgery.
Johnny Depp, 51, and still looking sexy as hell in that eyeliner, returned to the United States for surgery, but the injury is not expected to delay the film.
Depp’s role as Captain Jack Sparrow may have him recuperating for two weeks, but will “minimally” affect production.
His spokesperson has confirmed the film’s release date will still be July 2017.
Queensland police and ambulance services confirmed that they were not involved.
They stated, “We did not have to make any response on the Gold Coast involving Mr Depp. He may have taken himself by private means to hospital but we did not transport him or treat him for any injuries”.
The fifth installment of the “Pirates” franchise will show Sparrow dealing with deadly ghost pirates led by his former nemesis, Captain Salazar (Javier Bardem).
Captain Jack’s only hope of survival lies in seeking out the legendary Trident of Poseidon, a powerful artifact that bestows upon its possessor total control over the seas.
The last “Pirates of the Caribbean” grossed over $1 billion at the worldwide box office.
The news of Depp’s injury comes just days after a man dressed as a pirate showed up on the set of the movie.
The man was obviously attempting to imitate a cast member, wearing a pirate outfit, eyeliner, long dreadlocks, and even a parrot on his shoulder. Seriously!
The man in question was intercepted by a security guard. The man then produced a knife before running off in the bushland.
Police launched a manhunt with a dog team and appealed to the public for information, even releasing a picture of the suspect which shows him dressed as a pirate with a live parrot on his shoulder.
