You may not be the mushy type, but this romantic video was really sweet.
A man gave his girlfriend a huge birthday surprise on vacation, when she was shown a video he worked on for a year to ask her to marry him.
Dean Smith had been proposing and quietly holding of signs of his love for his girlfriend, Jennifer Kessel for an entire year.
Smith made the video that led up to the day of the proposal, showing the various signs as he brushed his teeth, showered, worked, got ready for bed, and played with their pets.
The special moment was revealed during a family trip to Aruba, where Jennifer was instructed via a whiteboard held by her sister Jaclyn to go down to the hotel lobby.
Her brother then took Jennifer to the beach, where her father and stepmother were waiting to hand her an ipad to watch the video.
Smith tells Jennifer on the video, “By now you’ve probably realized that your birthday surprise is in the form of this video. What you don’t know is that I’ve been planning this birthday surprise for over a year now.”
He revealed, “I just wanted to make this video to tell you that today is the day that I decided I want to spend the rest of my life with you”.
He wanted to find a way to propose to Jennifer that would show her just how much he loved her, and that he thought about her “literally every moment of every day”.
Smith videotaped himself holding up a whiteboard asking her to marry him every single day for a whole year, starting with January 8, 2014.
As the video comes to a close, Jennifer is turned to turn around.
Dean is standing right behind her ready to propose. Dean bends down on one knee at sunset and she said “yes”.
The beautiful moment even had eyewitnesses excited, with one stranger yellingout, “We all want invitations to the wedding!”
The family gave one another a big hug and cried tears of joy.
We loved this!
