Cate Blanchett is already mother to three sons, but new reports suggest the actress has adopted a daughter.
The 45-year-old Australian actress and her husband Andrew Upton have added to their brood, adopting a baby girl named Vivienne.
Blanchett shared her happy news with friends at her sons’ Sydney primary school about the addition to the family.
One friend stated, “She’s really excited and clearly besotted”.
Cate is already mom to three sons – Dashiell, 13, Roman, 10, and Ignatius, 7 – with her husband Andrew Upton. The couple have been married since 1997.
The Australian actress recently appeared on Sunrise to promote her film Cinderella on Tuesday and revealed her excitement over her children being interested in one of her movies.
She admitted, “My children are completely in the stage where I’m an utter embarrassment. I don’t force them on a Saturday night to sit home and watch mummy’s movies, wire coat-hanger in hand, but they’ll see this one for sure”.
Blanchett spoke to W Magazine in 2010, stating, “It’s true you do get a bit demented [with three boys]”, but adds “the chaos of it is great”.
She adds, “Everyone says, ‘Oh, you must have [been trying] to have a girl’, adding she was open to more children.
Congrats to Cate on the new addition to her family!
