Perry explained that a sign she received eased her nerves about her performance.
We can only imagine how nervous Katy had to be last weekend when she appeared in the halftime show at the Super Bowl game between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks.
She told Ryan Seacrest, “I was praying and I got a word from God and he says, ‘You got this and I got you’. And then I was on top of the lion and a guy — a random guy — looked at me with a headset that I’d never communicated with before. He looked me straight in the eyes and said ‘You got this.’ And I was like, ‘Oh, that’s God confirming I can do this!'”
And the girl totally nailed it!
The singer admits that she practiced her act at least 40 times before officially taking the stage at halftime.

Katy said she has now rejected traditional theological labels, but she still feels close to the Lord.
Perry explained, “I’m not Buddhist, I’m not Hindu, I’m not Christian, but I still feel like I have a deep connection with God. I pray all the time — for self-control, for humility. There’s a lot of gratitude in it. Just saying ‘thank you’ sometimes is better than asking for things.”
Perry told Rolling Stone magazine in 2010 that God “is very much still a part of” her life”.
