The Voice coach gushes over her little angel, but also admits she has “mom guilt”.
Aguilera described her first moments with her daughter, saying, “I was speechless. She was literally like an angel…We had an immediate calm bond, and I felt unexplainably connected to her and her spirit.”
She adds, “Her smile lights up a room and I know it melts mama and daddy’s hearts. She laughs a ton and is easy to make smile. She just wants to be where the action is!”
Summer is Christina’s first child with fiance Matt Rutler. They became engaged in February of last year.
The 34-year-old singer is also mom to a seven-year-old son named Max, from her marriage to Jordan Bratman.
Christina had to take a leave of absence from The Voice’s’ sixth and seventh series, but she will return to her coaching chair for the show’s eighth season, beginning later this year.
The Genie in a Bottle singer also discussed her grueling year ahead, saying, “it’s definitely not easy juggling work and motherhood, as being a parent is a full-time job within itself.”
Christina said, “You just have to make it work for you. My life has so many different moving parts, but my kids are the center focal piece, and everything else shifts around them.
“It’s hard to know you won’t have all the right answers at the right times. And ‘mom guilt’ is the worst thing ever. But you have to surrender and let go, knowing you’re doing your very best and no one loves them, or wants what’s best for them more than you.”
Aguilera is also reportedly producing a series for ABC, while also working on her eighth studio album with Pharrell Williams.
