Doctors tried to take Bobbi Kristina Brown out of her medically-induced coma on Wednesday, but the 21-year-old began having horrific seizures.
Her father Bobby Brown is heartbroken and remained hopeful for a positive response.
Bobby and other family members were hoping Bobbi had turned the corner, but that wasn’t the response anyone wanted to see.
A family insider said, “She was taken off the drugs, but she began having violent seizures. She is being put back into a coma.”
The daughter of Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston has been kept in a medically induced coma since Jan. 31 after being found unresponsive in her bathtub.
Police are treating her drowning as a criminal investigation.
Dr. Subhashini Ramesh, a professor of NeuroCritical Care at Georgia Regents University, explained the reasons someone would be taken out of a medically-induced coma, explaining either “the problem improved” or they wanted to “get a sense of what the patient is able to do for themselves.”
Bobbi Kristina’s breathing tube was removed last week and she was given a tracheotomy (a small hole in her throat).
The removal of the tube suggests she may need to be on life support for an extended amount of time.
Another source said, “Bobby is taking this so hard; he was sure this was going to be a good day. But please, everyone needs to pray for Krissi. I don’t care what religion you are, or if you have no religion at all. Send your thoughts, your prayers, your well-wishes. Send everything you’ve got. Please.”
There has been speculation about whether the family is prepared to take Bobbi Kristina off of life support, after doctors stated there is little they can do for her.
Bobbi Kristina Brown will turn 22 on March 4.
