The 42-year-old Something About Marry actress and the 35-year-old Good Charlotte rocker are set to exchange vows in California.
Cameron has been spotted wearing an engagement ring for several months, after her whirlwind romance with Benji. The couple were introduced by Benji’s twin brother Joel’s wife, Nicole Richie.
The couple held a rehearsal dinner in Beverly Hills on Sunday night.
A source close to the Sex Tape actress, who has dated Jared Leto, Matt Dillon and Justin Timberlake, stated, “Cameron hasn’t been this happy in a long time. She found someone who knew how lucky he was to have her. The other guys treated her badly, but Benji would do anything for her. She’s madly in love”.
The blonde beauty initially bonded with the former Good Charlotte star over music, but told friends she knew he was ‘the one’.
Benji, who now performs in a group with his twin brother, Joel Madden, under the name The Madden Brothers, has also formed a close bond with Cameron’s mother, Billie.
A source said, “Billie absolutely loved Benji. She has been gushing about the relationship, saying she hopes Cameron settles down with him.”
An insider said of the couple’s whirlwind romance, “Everyone thinks it’s wild, but are so happy for them. Benji tends to fall in love easily, but this time it’s for real and he landed a great girl. They obviously both make each other incredibly happy, and there’s nothing better than that.”
Diaz recently admitted that ‘timing’ was the secret to her happy relationship.
She said, “You have to find someone in the same place as you are. Timing is everything. If you get into a relationship where you want something the guy doesn’t want, it’s never going to work. You’re never going to get him to be in that place. No matter how old you are, finding the guy who’s in the same place as you are and wants to show up is the only way a relationship works, period.”
We normally shake our heads when celebrities tie the knot too quickly, realizing it probably won’t last. But for some reason we think Cameron and Benji might be the exception.
