Rashida Jones is a true professional, handling a very awkward moment during an interview at the 2015 SAG Awards.
The actress was complimented on her “tan” and replied that she is ethnic as the interviewer laughed, clearly thinking it was a joke.
The 38-year-old Parks and Recreation actress was being interviewed by TNT’s Danielle Demski when the actress was told she was ‘very tan’.
Danielle told Rashida, “You look like you’ve just come off an island or something, you’re very tan, very tropical”.
Jones smiled and replied, “I mean, you know, I’m ethnic”.
Danielle clearly thought it was a joke and burst into laughter. Awkward!
Rashida lived with her mother following her parents’ divorce at age 14 and later graduated from Harvard University.
The actress attended the awards show after attending the premiere of the documentary Hot Girls Wanted at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.
The LA native produced the documentary about young American women entering the ‘amateur’ porn world and it follows one girl eager to leave her small-town life for freedom and fame.
Rashida starred on NBC’s Parks And Recreation for five seasons and the comedy earlier this month started its seventh and final season.
She can next be seen in the upcoming TBS comedy series Angie Tribeca in which she plays the title character who is a 10-year veteran of the Los Angeles Police Department’s elite RHCU [Really Heinous Crimes Unit] .
