Naya Rivera, most known for playing Santana Lopez on Glee, appeared on The View and discussed personal hygiene.
The actress told the co-hosts that she thinks white people shower much more often than ethnic people.
The 28-year-old actress told Rosie O’Donnell and company that her husband showers three times more than she does.
She stated she has a theory, stating, “White people shower a lot more than ethnics. I feel like showering more than once a day or every day is such a white people thing.”
Rosie blurted in that there was a woman in the audience who was about to fall over.
Naya made her claim after moderator Nicolle Wallace revealed she showers three times a day.
Wallace stated she showers before her show, after, and a third time before going to bed.
Rivera explained her comments, “My mom is half black, half Puerto Rican. She showers every day, so I can say this. But I’m now married to a white man”.
Naya said of her husband Ryan, “He showers a lot, like two, three times a day. I’m like, ‘What are you doing?'”
The actress and singer was asked how often she showers, replying, “So the study says, a dermatologist says you are only supposed to shower once or twice every three days, so I’m right on the mark.”
Naya was later bashed on social media as being a “dirty girl”, but she laughed off the hate directed her way with a tweet.
