Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard welcomed their second daughter just weeks ago, with a 33-hour labor that ended with a C-section.
Dax appeared on Ellen DeGeneres’ show to give his hilarious account of baby Delta’s delivery, which clearly traumatized him.
During a taping for the Ellen DeGeneres Show, the 40-year-old Idiocracy star gave graphic details of the arrival of his three-week old daughter.
Dax admitted, “It was not [easier the second time around], it was more difficult. Kristen, god bless her, was in labor for 33 hours. It was intense.”
He then explained that his first daughter Lincoln was only a 15 hour labor, which he now thinks of as ‘child’s play’.
Shepard explained, “She got an epidural at like hour 14. And I think dads need something. I deserved something. Because I was along for the ride.
“Its still a car crash and I’m in the passenger seat. I’m playing Katy Perry, and I’m breathing, and I’m rubbing her back…[But] then at the last minute, which was heartbreaking, she then had to have a C-section.”
He adds, “I had been warned by a lot of different gentleman and even my own mother saying, ‘You might not want to watch the baby come out.’ But, what they did not warn me about was the C-section which is way worse.”
On December 19 the couple tweeted, “Delta Bell Shepard is here. She doesn’t look like either @IMKristenBell or me, but we’re gonna keep her anyway. #christmascameearly”.
This couple is so cute together!
