Ken Weatherwax, the actor who played Pugsley on the television show “The Addams Family”, has died at the age of 59 of a heart attack.
The actor went on to play Pugsley Sr. in the 1977 television movie “Halloween With The New Addams Family” and worked behind the scenes in films.
Weatherwax was best known for playing the chubby little boy named Pugsley on the TV series, which ran from 1964 until 1966.
After the series ended, Weatherwax returned to public school and endured mocking from other students. He was actually kicked out of several schools and enlisted in the army at the age of 17. He later worked on building sets for movies.
Ken Weatherwax remembers playing Pugsley on “The Addams Family” as a good experience and loved being recognized by fans.
Weatherwax appeared on Fox network’s “O’Reilly Factor” previously, discussing the difficulties he had after the series ended.
Weatherwax died in his sleep of a heart attack on Sunday morning, December 7, 2014.
The only regular cast members from The Addams Family still living are John Astin (Gomez Addams), Lisa Loring (Wednesday), and Felix Silla (Cousin It).
