Joe Riquelme, creator of the successful Videoshop editing app, gave his parents a Christmas they will never forget.
Joe handed his parents a plain white envelope with a handwritten note, having no clue what huge gift was contained inside.
Riquelme, a successful app developer from New York who goes by the YouTube user name joeytrombone, shared the sweet video on Christmas Day.
Riquelme is shown sitting between his parents on their sofa and hands them an envelope.
The envelope contained documents from Bank of America along with a handwritten note that reads, “Your house is paid off. Merry Xmas. Joe.”
Joe’s mother covered her mouth in shock and bursts into tears of joy. She then hands the envelope to her husband, who also begins crying.
His mom said, “I love you, thank you, Papi”.
The feel-good video ends with a group hug.
Joe Riquelme later shared the heart-warming moment, writing, “Sometimes the best gifts come in the lamest packages. Merry Christmas everyone! — feeling happy”.
Riquelme is a graduate of University of California at Davis with years of experience working in the semiconductor industry. Last year, he founded the New York-based startup Videoshop – a video-editing app available for the iPhone.
