The 2015 Grammy nominations are being announced on Friday, with the biggest and brightest in music competing for categories including song of the year, record of the year, and album of the year.

The Recording Academy will start announcing the nominees for the 57th annual Grammy Awards Friday on “CBS This Morning” at 8:30 a.m. ET.
Other categories and nominees will be revealed online and on Twitter. Finally the nominees for album of the year will be announced on “A Very Grammy Christmas” tonight at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
The first four categories were announced by Ed Sheeran and Pharrell Williams live on US TV on Friday morning.
Pharrell had to read out a nomination for himself in the Best Urban Contemporary album for G I R L. His competition includes Beyonce’s self-titled fifth album, Chris Brown and newcomers Mali Music and Jhene Aiko.

The Best Country Album nominees include Dierks Bentley, Brandy Clark, Eric Church, Lee Ann Womack and Miranda Lambert.
Singer Sam Smith, who performed on taped special A Very GRAMMY Christmas, set to air on Friday, admitted he has his fingers crossed that he can add a Grammy to his mantelpiece.
Smith said, “I’m scared. It’s like Christmas Eve right now for me. I’d love my album to get that platform so I don’t know. Fingers crossed.”
The 57th Grammy Awards will air live Feb. 8 from the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
More nominees will be announced during the day, with all 83 categories being revealed by 2pm ET.
