Beyonce’s little sister, Solange Knowles, married her longtime boyfriend Alan Ferguson in front of 200 family and friends on Sunday in New Orleans.
The couple and wedding party were all decked out in white and Vogue has shared the first wedding photos. We are loving Solange and son Julez’s wedding dance-off!
Photographers outside the Marigny Opera House, a 167-year-old converted cultural center snapped away as the bride and groom made their way to the wedding on bicycles.
A guest said of the couple, “Beaming. Calm. They looked pretty calm, relaxed on their wedding day. Definitely happy.”
Solange tied the knot with her video director fiance Alan Ferguson and posed for beautiful photos for Vogue.
One portrait was taken of Solange, sister Beyonce, mom Tina Knowles, and the rest of the wedding party.
The entire group wore all-white with Queen Bey, 33, in a short, fitted white dress. Solange sported a stunning Humberto Leon for Kenzo floor-length gown with an attached cape.
The bridal party included Solange’s 10-year-old son from a previous marriage, Daniel Julez, and niece Blue Ivy as a flower girl.
The weekend wedding festivities included a rehearsal dinner at the New Orleans’ Felicity Street Methodist Church and a film-themed party a night earlier at Indywood Cinema.
Solange and Alan showed guests a homemade film about how they met, before screening the 1975 romantic drama, “Mahogany”. That was the movie the couple watched on their very first date.
The bride walked down the aisle to one of the couple’s favorite songs, a symphonic instrumental of Donny Hathaway’s, “I Love the Lord, He Heard My Cry.”
There were performances at the nuptials by Kelela, Questlove, and Kindness, which also included a dance-off between Solange and her ten-year-old son Daniel Julez to “No Flex Zone”.
