Ryan Knight, who found fame on MTV’s The Real World set in New Orleans in 2010 and The Challenge, sadly passed away on Thanksgiving Day. He was 29.
Knight appeared on the 24th season of Real World, alongside roommates McKenzie Coburn, Preston O’Neil Roberson-Charles, Ryan Leslie, Sahar Dika, Ashlee Feldman, and Eric Patrick.
Ryan Knight passed away after a night partying with friends. He ended up staying at a friend’s house, where he was discovered dead early Thursday morning.
One of his close friends said Ryan “took some pills”, while another stated that he “choked on his own vomit” after drinking.
Either way, it’s a tragic loss of such a young man.
He battled drug abuse, specifically painkillers, following severe shoulder injuries.
He played hockey for the Kenosha Knights and the Fond du Lac Bears but severe injury to both of his shoulders left him unable to play hockey, costing him his academic and athletic scholarship at Arizona State University.
His passing comes just after the death of fellow MTV personality Diem Brown.
Ryan was mourning the loss of his friend Diem, with his current photo of himself with Diem on his profile.
Friends say Knight was in a good place in his life. He was in a happy relationship with Makenzie Jauer when he suddenly passed away.
Makenzie wrote of her heartbreak, saying, “I’m so angry at God right now. My heart is completely broken”.
Knight’s off/on love, Jemmye Carroll, reacted to the tragic news on Twitter.
Knight tweeted on November 24:
His last tweet was on Wednesday:
R.I.P. Ryan Knight. Our condolences to his family and friends.
