It was nearly one year ago when actor Paul Walker was killed in a fatal car accident in Valencia, California.
Fans all over the world mourned his loss and his father reveals he is still trying to come to terms with his son’s death.
We know how devastating it can be to lose a loved one and celebrities and their families are no different.
In memory of his son, the late actor’s father, Paul Walker III, sat down with ET’s Nancy O’Dell to talk about his loss, memories of his son, and pay tribute to his child.
“We’re very much in shock,” he adds. “I’m missing him more now, the last month. It’s not getting any better for me.”
Paul Walker and his friend Roger Rodas, a pro-am racer, drove away for a quick ride during Paul’s charity Reach Out Worldwide, with Rodas behind the wheel. The car crashed into a concrete lamp post, causing the vehicle to catch fire.
Medical examiners have stated that it appears both Paul and Roger died on impact.
Paul Walker III recalled the moment he learned the devastating news.
“I kept getting calls. My brother says, ‘Paul has been killed.’ And I’m thinking somebody’s got it wrong,” Walker revealed. “He says, ‘You need to get over to the house, everybody’s there.’ My feet wouldn’t move.”
“One little girl was there, and she goes, ‘Are you Paul’s dad?’ Can I give you a hug?'” he emotionally told O’Dell.
Paul Walker III also shared many home movies and baby photos of his son, speaking about the wonderful they shared as a family.
He revealed, “The last time I saw him, he gave me a kiss on the cheek, I gave him one. I tell him I loved him. It’s a great memory”.
Most of us found ourselves in mourning when we learned of Walker’s death, even though we’d never met him. We don’t think it was just his cool movies or handsome looks that made him so beloved. He appeared to be so kind and a great person.
