We wanted to share this sweet moment between country star Garth Brooks and a huge fan, Teresa Shaw, who is battling breast cancer.
Garth spotted Teresa’s sign in the crowd and gave her a kiss on the forehead, his guitar, along with encouragement.
We admit we got emotional watching this touching video. Nearly all of us have a friend or family member that’s battled…or is currently battling cancer.
Garth Brooks’ Friday night show in Minneapolis included tons of fans, but one in particular got Garth’s attention.
Teresa Shaw had traveled from Iowa to see the show in Minneapolis and held up a sign that read “Chemo this morning, Garth tonight. Enjoy the dance.”
Shaw later revealed, “The next thing I knew, an usher was coming up to me and were like, ‘follow us,'” said Shaw. “And they took me to the very front, right in front of him.”
Brooks walked over and began singing to her. He then handed her his guitar, kissed her forehead, took her sign and held it up.
Here’s the video of that moment: (starts at 3:55):
“I got up closer to the stage and he saw my sign. He looked at me and then he winked at me and the a security guard and usher came and got me and took me right up to him. And then he came and sat down right in front of me and started continuing to sing his song,” Shaw explains.
“I thought he was reaching for a marker to sign my sign to give back to me and then all of the sudden he unstraps his guitar and hands it to me. I was just like, ‘Oh my gosh he’s giving me his guitar.’ I’m just going to have it in my house somewhere and I might learn how to play. I don’t know how to play so I might take a few lessons,” she adds.
This just makes us adore Garth Brooks even more. What a sweet and touching moment!
Brooks kicked off his 11-show, 10-night tour stop in Minneapolis on Thursday, smashing the ticket sales record that he set 16 years ago.
