Want to own a piece of Burt Reynolds? The “Smokey And The Bandit” star is auctioning off many of his possessions.
Burt was rolling in the dough in the 70s and 80s, but is facing foreclosure on his palatial Florida estate.
Burt Reynolds will auction off hundreds of his own personal belongings in an attempt to dig himself out a financial hole.
Reynolds was the highest paid actor in the movie industry for five straight years back in the day, with his hit movie “Smokey And The Bandit” and its two sequels.
His expensive lifestyle, divorce from actress Loni Anderson, and a bad restaurant investment hit him hard.
The 78-year-old actor will be auctioning off around 600 of his personal items on December 11 and 12 with Julien’s Auctions at the Palms resort in Las Vegas.
There are items up for bid online, ranging from his Golden Globe award to his “Bandit” jacket, and much more.
Reynolds said in a statement about the auction, “I’ve collected so many things that I truly adore but at this stage in my life I find it very difficult to manage them all. The fact of the matter is that it truly is the time to downsize and for these items that I have loved over the years find new homes where they can be cared for and appreciated.”
He also apparently needs to money!
