Katherine Heigl has been rumored to be a little difficult to work with, something she denies.
But “Grey’s Anatomy” creator Shonda Rhimes proves there is no love lost between them, taking a swipe at Heigl in a new interview.
Heigl abruptly left “Grey’s Anatomy” after five years on the show to become a major movie star.
The show’s creator took aim at Heigl in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
She was discussing overseeing stars on her hit shows when she stated, “There are no Heigls in this situation”.
She adds, “I don’t put up with bullsh*t or nasty people. I don’t have time for it”. She then added that she has “no time for a**holes”. Ouch!
Katherine was awarded an Emmy for her portrayal of Dr. Izzie Stevens in 2007, but her history with the medical series was marked by drama.
In 2008 Katherine withdrew her “Grey’s Anatomy” role from an Emmy consideration, explaining, “I did not feel that I was given the material this season to warrant an Emmy nomination and in an effort to maintain the integrity of the academy organization, I withdrew my name from contention.”
She departed the show two years later.
“Grey’s Anatomy” has launched the careers of Katherine Heigl and Ellen Pompeo.
Katherine appeared to have regrets on her departure from the show, telling TVLine in 2012, “It just makes me sad … I feel like I’m missing the party. I live about five minutes from the studios, so I have to physically hold myself [back] from just popping in and being like, ‘Hey guys — whatcha doin’?” “I really, really, really want to see where [Izzie] is. I just want to know what happened to her and where she went and what she’s doing now.”
Heigl said she’s even reached out about it. “I’ve told them I want t. I always felt that if they wanted me to come back and sort of wrap up that storyline. I want them to know that I’m down with it if they want me to, but I completely understand if it doesn’t necessarily work.”
We don’t see that happening!
