Sofia Vergara and Nick Loeb split in late May, with most believing it was over the long-distance relationship (he lives in New York and she lives in Los Angeles).
But Loeb revealed that they ended the engagement because he wanted a family, but the Colombian actress (who has a 22-year-old son named Manolo) is too busy with her career.
The 39-year-old said, “She’s focused on her career. The most important thing for me is to get married and have kids.”
The Loeb’s Crunch founder adds, “I completely understand. She’s at the height of her career, and, as she says all the time, she’s taking advantage of her 15 minutes of fame because who knows how long that will last.”
Sofia, 42, is enjoying a very successful career with her popular television series “Modern Family”. She has also had starring roles in movies such as “Fading Gigolo”.
The brunette beauty also has endorsement deals and her own perfume, which she launched in September.
Loeb also added his two cents on Sofia’s new man, hunky Joe Manganiello. Nick said of Joe, “They are much better suited for each other”.
Loeb didn’t address rumors he was dating 56-year-old actress Sharon Stone. They were spotted looking pretty cozy in New York earlier this month.
Stone and Vergara worked together on the movie “Fading Gigolo”, which was released in 2013.
Vergara and Loeb appear to be on good terms after their split. They even had a run-in at the New York Angel Ball on Monday.
The actress was being interviewed by AJ Calloway of “Extra” when Nick got his ex-girlfriend’s attention for a split second. She quickly resumed her interview and he didn’t get much of a reaction from her.
